Transported deep into the Soviet Union – to Siberia, to Kazakhstan – their numbers reach a million and a half. They have not come back. Tormented, starved to death. Also because they froze to death on the train – it was a harsh winter – and they were riding in cattle cars, without heat. About 200 thousand soldiers who were taken prisoners perished that way, too. Atrocity against our nation -- horrible.
But one has to coexist with the descendants of those criminals. To live in a normal way one has to forgive, for otherwise we will bite each other’s heads off in recollection of the wrongs which we suffered. New future has to be built – brotherly.
