December 24, 2011 – Saturday
So, we have already gathered at the Christmas Eve dinner table. We’ve managed to do everything on time; red-beet soup with mushroom dumplings, mushroom soup, plum compote, pies and cakes, cheesecakes, and fish. Women are dressed up to the ninnies, men wearing bow ties. Everything is ready. And now, what? Finally we've devoured all 12 dishes, one after the other; we managed to share a Christmas wafer.
Only, haven’t we become tangled up in all of this cooking and dressing up and baking? Haven’t we lost from sight the reason for all these activities – Jesus for whom we had been waiting?
The one who shall be - for yet another consecutive year - teaching us love afresh.
