2. NIEDZIELA ADWENTU

„Nawróćcie się”

     Jan głosił królestwo Boże. I byli tacy, którzy uderzeni jego słowem, zobaczyli z całą jasnością prawdę o sobie. I pchani porywem serca przychodzili do Jana, prosząc o chrzest pokuty.
     Byli i tacy, którzy słuchali jego słów z zainteresowaniem. Ale zapytani przez kogoś: „A ty idziesz się ochrzcić?” odpowiadali: „Może później”.
     Byli i tacy, którzy przystawali na krótko i odchodzili, wzruszając ramionami. Ze słowami: „Cóż to mnie w końcu wszystko obchodzi? Zresztą nie mam czasu na takie sprawy”.

”Turn your lives around”

     John was proclaiming God’s kingdom.  There were some who were struck by his words and saw themselves in truth with the full clarity.  And driven by the heart’s elation they came to John asking for the baptism of atonement.
     There were others who listened to his words with interest, but when asked by someone: „Are you going to get baptized?” answered: „Maybe later”.
     There were still others who stopped for a moment then left shrugging their shoulders.  They left saying:  „What should I care?  I don’t have time for that kind of stuff anyway”.
