3. NIEDZIELA WIELKIEGO POSTU

„W duchu i w prawdzie”

     My, umorusani troską codzienną biegniemy do studni po wodę. A przy studni siedzi Bóg. Najwyraźniej czeka na nas. A my zaskoczeni, prawie przerażeni. Bo przecież to ani kościół, ani obraz święty. Po prostu studnia – potrzebna do tego, żeby żyć realnym życiem. Tym bardziej, że my nieprzygotowani do rozmowy z Bogiem – a sumienie mamy nieczyste i spraw niezałatwionych aż po sam sufit. Przybiegliśmy do studni na moment. Bo robota czeka w domu. A przy studni czeka na nas Bóg i zaczyna z nami rozmowę. My zdziwieni, prawie osłupiali. Bo to ani kaplica, ani klęcznik przynajmniej. I mówi o tym, że nadszedł czas, aby oddawać Bogu chwałę w duchu i w prawdzie, że kościół potrzebny, ale tylko w tym celu, żeby Boga czcić swoim życiem. Tłumaczy to nam, którzyśmy nieprzygotowani do tego?

3rd Sunday of Lent

”In Spirit and Truth”

     You, tarnished with everyday worry, run to the well to fetch water.  And there, sitting at the well is God, apparently waiting for you.  You are astonished, almost frightened, because this is neither a church nor a holly painting.  It’s simply a well – needed for down-to-earth life.  All the more, you are not ready for a conversation with God – your conscience is not clean, and you have the whole pile of things to take care of.  You’ve just run to the well for a moment, because there’s work waiting at home.  And here at the well God is waiting and He starts a conversation with you.  You are surprised, almost stunned.  This is neither a chapel nor even a kneeler.  And He says that the time has come to worship God in spirit and truth, that church is needed, but only so you can glorify God with your life.  He explains all this to you, who are not ready.
