Życie oddam za Ciebie

     Wielki Wtorek. Gdy słuchamy tekstu Ewangelii, to pojąć nie możemy. W głowie nam się to nie mieści. Jak mógł Judasz wydać Jezusa.
     A druga postać: Piotr – opoka Kościoła, fundament – za chwilę zaprze się tego, co mówi w tej chwili. A mówi do Jezusa: Życie moje oddam za Ciebie. To jest dorosły człowiek. Postawiony przez Jezusa na czele społeczności apostołów. Jak on może to mówić, a za chwilę wyprze się Go, powie: Nie znam tego Człowieka. Po trzykroć powtórzy to zdanie.
     Jesteśmy przerażeni tymi ludźmi – Judaszem i Piotrem, i sobą.

HOLY TUESDAY

I will give my life for you.

 
     Holy Tuesday.  When we listen to the Gospel, we cannot comprehend.  It just blows one’s mind.  How could Judas betray Jesus?
     And the second character: Peter – the bedrock of the church, the foundation – in a moment he will deny whatever he is saying right now.  And he says to Jesus: I will give my life for you.  He is a grown man, established by Jesus as a leader in the community of apostles.  How can he say that, and in a moment he will deny Him, he will say: I don’t know this Man.  He will repeat this sentence three times.
     We are horrified by these people – by Judas, by Peter, and by ourselves.
