Ustanowił dwunastu

     Dlaczego Judasz jest traktowany przez ewangelistów jednoznacznie – jako zdrajca, jako złodziej? Bo sprzedał Jezusa za 30 srebrników. Ale te srebrniki oddał – przyszedł do świątyni, powiedział arcykapłanom: „Zgrzeszyłem. Wydałem krew Sprawiedliwego”. A równocześnie jedenastu nie wytrzymało zagrożenia i zniknęli na czas sądu Jezusa, skazania Go na śmierć, ukrzyżowania, pogrzebu, nie pojawili się przy swoim Mistrzu. Czym się różni grzech Judasza od grzechu jedenastu, którzy uciekli? A jednak to Judasz wśród apostołów był tym grzesznikiem, który zdradził Jezusa. A oni zdrady nie widzieli w swoim postępowaniu?

He’s instituted the twelve of them

 
     Why is Judas treated by the Evangelists unequivocally – as a traitor, as a thief?  It’s because he sold Jesus for 30 pieces of silver.  But he returned these pieces of silver —he went back to the temple and said to the high priests: “I have sinned by betraying innocent blood.”  Yet at the same time the eleven could not bear the risk and they disappeared for the time of Jesus’ trial, His condemnation to death, crucifixion, and burial; they did not stand by their Master.  How is Judas’ sin different from the sin of the eleven, who ran away?  And still it is Judas who was considered this sinner among the apostles, the one who’d betrayed Jesus.  And they did not see the betrayal in their actions?
