III NIEDZIELA ZWYKŁA

„Królestwo Boże”

     Jan nie zdążył go zbudować, bo zginął. Ale gdyby nawet nie zginął, to i tak by nie zdążył. Wskazał na Jezusa jako na właściwego budowniczego. Ale Jezus też nie zdążył. Zginął przy tym budowaniu. Ale gdyby nawet Go nie zabili, to i tak by nie zdążył. Przekazał to budowanie apostołom i uczniom. Oni też nie zdążyli. Nie tylko dlatego, że zginęli przy tym budowaniu, ale i tak by nie zdążyli.
     W tym ciągu przekazywań znaleźliśmy się i my. Budujemy królestwo miłości – w sobie, w swoich środowiskach, ale i tak nie zdążymy. Przekazujemy to budowanie naszym następcom. Oni też nie zdążą.
     Ale liczy się nadzieja, chęć, staranie, wierność, wytrwanie. Że to ma sens. Że to powinno być treścią naszego życia. Każdego życia.

3rd Sunday of Ordinary Time

„God’s Kingdom”

     John did not have enough time to build it because he was killed.  And even if he had not been killed, he would not have had enough time anyway.  He indicated that Jesus was the true builder.  But Jesus also did not have enough time.  He perished while he was building it.  But even if he had not been killed he would not have had enough time.  He passed its building onto his apostles and disciples.  They did not have enough time either.  Not only because they were killed while building it, but also just because they did not have enough time. 
     Now we find ourselves building it.  We are building the kingdom of love within us, within our communities, but we will not have enough time, either.  We will pass it onto our successors.  They will not have enough time either.
     But what matters is hope, will, effort, loyalty, and persistence.  That it will make sense.  That it ought to be the substance of our lives, of each and every life.
