PONIEDZIAŁEK

Nie jestem godzien

     Do Jezusa przychodzi setnik rzymski i prosi, aby uzdrowił jego sługę, który jest bliski śmierci.
     Jesteśmy przyzwyczajeni do tego, że faryzeusze są źli, kapłani są jeszcze gorsi, a tylko lud jest za Jezusem. A teraz spotykamy zupełnie co innego. Starszyzna żydowska przychodzi do Jezusa i prosi Go usilnie za setnikiem: „Godzien jest, żebyś mu to wyświadczył. Kocha bowiem nasz naród”. Nie prześladuje ich, ale nawet zbudował im synagogę.
     Święci są po jednej stronie i po drugiej stronie. Decyduje człowiek. Jego mądrość, dobroć – jego człowieczeństwo.

MONDAY

I am not worthy

     A Roman centurion approaches Jesus and asks Him to heal his servant who is nearing death.
     We are used to the fact that Pharisees are bad and that High Priests are worse and only the common people are pro-Jesus.  And now we encounter something totally different.  The Jewish elders come to Jesus and urgently plead for the centurion.  „He deserves your help; for he loves our nation”.  He does not persecute them; he even built a synagogue for them.
     There are saints on either side.  Man himself decides; his wisdom, kindness – his humanity.
