Grzesznica

     Jezus zaproszony do domu faryzeusza na przyjęcie. Jest gościem. I nikt nic nie powiedział, ale wszyscy zauważyli, że to jest gość specjalny – któremu się nie podaje wody do nóg, którego się nie wita pocałunkiem, którego nie polewa się olejkiem na przywitanie. Niby nikt tego nie zauważył, a wszyscy widzą, że Jezus został zlekceważony, pogardzony, nieuszanowany.
     Grzesznica przywraca Jezusowi godność. Ona łzami oblewa Jego nogi, olejkiem namaszcza i całuje je. Dlatego – mówi Jezus – odpuszczone są jej liczne grzechy, ponieważ bardzo umiłowała. A miłość nobilituje.

A sinner
 

     Jesus was invited to Pharisee’s home for a dinner.  He was a guest.  And nobody said anything, yet everyone noticed that He was a special guest; one who was not handed water to wash his feet, who was not greeted with a kiss, on whom the oil was not poured in a welcoming gesture.  It seems that nobody noticed, yet everyone could see that Jesus was unheeded, treated with contempt, and not honored.
     The sinner restores Jesus’ dignity.  She pours her tears on his feet; she anoints them with the oil and kisses them.  That’s why – Jesus says – her sins are forgiven, because she got to love so much.  And love ennobles.
