FEAST OF CHRIST THE KING
34th SUNDAY OF ORDINARY TIME
"He did not do anything wrong"
Why did the Romans nail Him to the cross?
What crime did He commit?
Did He urge Jews to an armed rebellion?
Did He organize partisans?
Why did the highest priests condemn Him?
Did He reject the Ten Commandments?
Did He want to destroy the temple in Jerusalem?
Did He raise His hand against the Scripture?
He died because He was teaching that God loves
all people; Jews as well as pagans.
He taught that God does not punish sinners
either with poverty, or disease, or disasters,
but that He loves them, too and
cares about their conversion.
And He sat down to eat with sinners and tax collectors.
And He commanded to forgive those
who hurt us.
And we are His disciples as long as
we forgive, don't take revenge, try
to love everyone, including our enemies.
But if we condemn, don't forgive, don't reconcile,
then why do we come to church?
